DISCOVERY

Name the current state before changing it.

Discovery is the paid diagnostic at the front of every IKINGAI™ engagement. It maps what is actually operating, not what the org chart says is operating, and ends in a documented current state and a stated direction.

The simple steps we take

Orient

What the organization is actually carrying, and who is carrying it. Roles, active commitments, and the work that currently has no owner.

Assess

Where structure and intention diverge. Which decisions degrade, where authority is assumed rather than granted, and what the evidence actually supports.

What Discovery produces

A documented current state

The operating reality written down, in terms the leadership team agrees on. This becomes the record everything after it is measured against.

A readiness assessment

Whether the structure can carry what is being asked of it, and which prior steps are missing if it cannot.

A documented recommendation

What to change, in what order, with the reasoning attached and the assumptions visible.

What Discovery does not cover

Implementation

Building the structure is separate work under a separate agreement. Discovery names what is there; it does not install what replaces it.

System design

Designing the operating structure is its own scope. Discovery establishes what that design would have to account for.

The decisions themselves

Discovery makes conditions visible. Judgment, prioritization, and the call stay with the person who carries the consequence.

Starting Discovery

Discovery is a fixed fee, set by the scope of the engagement. It is the entry point. Whether anything follows it is a separate decision, made after the current state is on the table.
